Manali Tour Packages & Stays

Honeymoon, family, group and adventure trips to Manali — planned and run by people who live here, with private cabs, real itineraries and our own villa above Mall Road.

The Destination

Manali, in the Kullu valley.

Manali sits at about 2,050 metres where the Beas river runs through deodar forest and apple orchards. It is Himachal's most visited hill town, and also one of the easiest to enjoy badly — two rushed days of shared cabs and crowded viewpoints.

We plan it differently. One comfortable base, a private vehicle, and days ordered so that Solang, the Atal Tunnel, Vashisht and Old Manali each get the time they deserve. Forest Nook is based in Manali, on Gompa Road in Balsari, which is why our itineraries reflect road conditions and seasons rather than a generic template.

Why Visit

Why Manali is worth the drive.

Two seasons, two entirely different trips

Green orchards and river valleys from March to June; deep snow around Solang and the Atal Tunnel from December to February.

Everything within an hour

Solang, Vashisht, Old Manali, Jogini and the Atal Tunnel all sit within a short drive of one base — no packing and unpacking.

Adventure without expedition planning

Paragliding, rafting and easy forest treks are all bookable on the day, with licensed operators in the valley.

A base we actually run

Forest Nook Manali is our own villa above Mall Road, so our advice comes from living here, not from a brochure.

The quietest and clearest window. Waterfalls are at their fullest in September.

December – February

-2°C to 10°C

How To Reach

Getting to Manali.

By road from Delhi

About 530 km and 12 to 14 hours. Overnight Volvo buses leave Delhi in the evening and reach Manali by morning; private cabs take a similar time.

By air

Bhuntar (Kullu-Manali) airport is about 50 km away, roughly a 1.5 hour drive. Flights are weather dependent, so keep a road backup in winter.

By train

The nearest broad-gauge stations are Chandigarh (about 310 km) and Ambala. Both connect to Manali by bus or cab.

Within Manali

A private cab is the practical choice. Distances are short but roads are narrow, and parking at Solang and Vashisht is limited.

Travel Tips

Worth knowing before you book.

  • Book snow-season stays and New Year dates at least a month ahead.
  • Rohtang Pass needs an online permit and is closed in winter; the Atal Tunnel does not.
  • Take the first day slowly — Manali sits at about 2,050 m and Lahaul is much higher.
  • Keep cash for activity operators and small shops; card acceptance is patchy.
  • Avoid driving the valley roads after dark, especially in rain or snow.

FAQs

Manali questions, answered.

What is the best time to visit Manali?

March to June for warm, green days and September to November for clear, quiet skies. December to February is the snow season, which is the reason many people come.

How many days are enough for a Manali trip?

Three nights covers Manali properly — a local day, a Solang day and an Atal Tunnel day. Two nights works if you are short on time; four lets you add Kasol or Naggar.

How much does a Manali trip cost?

Our 2 nights / 3 days couple package is ₹13,999 for a couple and ₹5,999 per person for groups, including the stay with breakfast and a private cab for all three days. Longer trips are quoted on your dates.

Is there snow in Manali?

In Manali town, occasionally in January. For dependable snow you go up to Solang or through the Atal Tunnel to Sissu, which we include in every winter itinerary.

Where should couples stay in Manali?

Above the town rather than on Mall Road. Forest Nook Manali is a private two-bedroom duplex villa on Gompa Road, Balsari, about a kilometre behind Mall Road, with valley views and a bonfire.

Do I need a permit for Rohtang Pass?

Yes, an online permit is required and daily numbers are limited. The Atal Tunnel and Sissu need no permit and stay open all year.
