Inside Forest Nook Manali: A Villa A Kilometre From Mall Road

What the villa is actually like — the rooms, the balcony, the road up, and who it suits best.

5 min read

Forest Nook Manali is an entire two-bedroom duplex villa at Balsari, Ward 7, on Gompa Road above Siyal — about a kilometre behind Mall Road, on the quieter forested side of town.

The space

Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and space for up to six guests across a duplex layout, with a private kitchen you are free to use and a sitting area that looks straight out at the valley.

The balcony is where most guests end up: string lights, a table, and the lights of Manali below after dark. There is bonfire seating outside for the colder months.

Two very different seasons

In summer the hillside around the villa is green and flowering, with the forest ridge behind and long evenings on the balcony. In winter the same view turns to snow and pine, and the bonfire and indoor warmth become the point of the stay.

Both seasons are worth planning for — they are almost different properties.

Getting to the door

There is free parking on site. The final approach is a narrow road with two or three steep uphill turns, so a little hill-driving experience helps. In heavy snow we can arrange a pickup from Mall Road — message us before you set off.

Check-in is after 11:00 AM and checkout before 10:00 AM. Self check-in, Wi-Fi and a workspace are available, and pets are welcome.

Who it suits

Two couples, a small family, or a group of friends who would rather cook and sit out than move between hotel restaurants. It also works well for anyone working remotely for a week with the valley in front of them.
